Hi, I'm Curtis Ballard of Valley Tile Pros Inc. I started my first tile job in 1994 and stayed because I love finishing a job with a satisfied customer.

Is tile waterproof? —
Tile itself isn't waterproof — the system is. Showers see ~1,100" of water per year (Seattle gets 36"). We waterproof before we tile: membrane, slope, seams and drains detailed so water never reaches framing.
What’s the difference between porcelain and ceramic? +
Porcelain is fired hotter/longer and absorbs ≤0.5% water — impervious and great for floors, showers and outdoors when spec'd correctly. Ceramic absorbs more and suits walls and dry areas.
How do you handle exterior tile? +
Extra expansion joints, proper drainage and slip-resistant, frost-rated tile. We don’t use big-box guesses — we spec tile from local distributors who stand behind exterior ratings.
Do you give free estimates? +
Yes. We'll review scope, materials and layout and give a fair price that matches the work required — no pressure.
